Hello Crafty Friends! I’m sharing a festive window-themed card featuring the Holiday Windows and Rustic Pine Press Plate set from Papertrey Ink’s latest release! The Holiday Windows set includes a charming window frame, shutters, and coordinating holiday greenery to dress up your window for a warm and cozy holiday scene.
To begin, I splattered white acrylic paint onto an A2-sized panel of Enchanted Evening cardstock to create a snowy night background. I then die cut an opening using the window die. Next, I die cut a snowbank using a hillside border die from my stashed and softly inked blended Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides along the top edge. I stamped the sentiment “There’s no place like home for the holidays” from the set with Scarlet Jewel ink onto the centre of the snowbank.
For the window and holiday decorations, I stamped and die cut the images using the following inks:
- Window Frame and Planter – Scarlet Jewel
- Shutters– Pale Peony
- Holiday Greenery– New Leaf, Spruce, Coastal Blue
- Tree Decorations– Coastal Blue
- Flower Pot and Pine Cone- Honey Nut, Fine Linen
- Poinsettia, Berrie, and Candle– Pure Poppy
- Lantern– Memento Ink and Copic Marker Y11
I also die cut the snow for the windowsill from white cardstock and added shadow with Copic Marker C0. Once all the pieces were ready, I adhered the window frame to the snowy night background and arranged the festive decorations around it.
To create the glowing Christmas tree inside the window, I used the Rustic Pine Press Plate with Spruce and New Leaf inks on an A2-sized panel of white cardstock. I then ink blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink around the tree to create a soft, warm glow followed by Blueprint Sketch. I positioned the tree slightly to the left behind the window and trimmed away the excess cardstock.
I adhered the tree panel to a white card base, then adhered the window panel over top with foam tape for added depth.
To finish the card, I added Nuvo Glitter Drops to the poinsettia, berries, and candle flame for a little extra sparkle.
