Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing a whimsical Christmas tree card featuring the Build-A- Whimsical Tree set from Papertrey Ink’s latest release. This set is so much fun to play with! It includes separate layers and coordinating stencils that make decorating each layer easy and fun.
To begin, I die the Border Bling: Candy Cane Frame from white cardstock and adhered it to an A2 sized white panel. I then die cut a white oval from the Reflections: John 1:14 Die Collection and adhered to the center of the panel.
To create the tree, I die cut the tree base from white cardstock and the individual tree layers from the Papertrey Ink cardstock colors listed below. I used the coordinating stencils and matching inks to add patterns to each layer.
For the trunk, I die cut white cardstock and blended it with Honey Nut ink. I also die cut the holly berries from white cardstock and ink blended them with Pure Poppy ink. The holly leaves were die cut from Green Parakeet cardstock, and I added shading to the centers with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide.
Next, I arranged decorated layers onto the tree base and glued them in place. I added gold baubles, snow layers, and twirls from the set to decorate the tree. The snow-covered ground at the base of the tree was die cut from white cardstock, and I added glitter along the edges for extra sparkle.
To finish the card, I stamped the “Merry & Bright” sentiment from the Cup Of Christmas Die Collection in red ink and added a few red enamel dots.
