Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing a pair of Halloween treat boxes created with the Halloween Silhouettes Set and Love To Layer: A Little Loopy from Papertrey Ink’s latest release. I combined these new products with the Go-To-Gift Card Holder Book Die, also from Papertrey Ink. This die is perfect for gift giving because the book-style gift box can easily be decorated to suit any occasion.
To begin, I die cut the boxes from Papertrey Ink patterned cardstock listed below, creating one in black and the other in orange. I die cut the inside box with Vintage Cream cardstock, then inked the edges with Fine Linen and Honey Nut inks to give them the look of aged book pages. I assembled the boxes together and tucked in beige ribbon between the layers to tie the boxes for closure.
Next, I die cut two loopy panels from black glitter cardstock using the largest die from the Love To Layer: A Little Loopy set. I adhered one panel to the center of each box.
For the focal pieces, I stamped and die cut the frames, witch, and haunted house from the Halloween Silhouettes Stamp and Die set with the following Papertrey Ink colors:
Purple- Royal Velvet
Orange- Orange Zest
I lightly ink blended a cloudy background using Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide and a cloud stencil from my stash. I also colored the windows and doors of the haunted house with Copic Markers listed below.
Once the backgrounds were complete, I adhered the frames to the front of the boxes followed by the witch and the haunted house silhouettes.
For the finishing touches, I added white heat embossed “Spooktacular Wishes” sentiments on purple and black cardstock over vellum to create the spine labels. I finished each box with a white heat embossed “Trick or Treat” tag.
