SUMMER SUN WITH PRETTY PINK POSH

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m sharing a little sunshine and summer cheer with this fun bright card featuring a variety of summer-themed products from Pretty Pink Posh.

To begin, I created the background by ink blending the Seashell Background Stencil onto an A2 white cardstock panel using Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks.

Next, I die cut a sandy border using the Snowy Hills Border Set and ink blended it with Scattered Straw and Antique Linen Distress Oxide Inks. To add texture and dimension to the sand, I used E40 with Copic marker accents and a white gel pen. For the ocean, I die cut waves from the Shorelines Border Set and ink blended the waves with Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides. I added white gel pen details to mimic ocean foam.

I then die cut the sun from the Sun Shaker Die, the drink from the Summer Cocktails set, and several additional beach-themed elements. I ink blended the images with the following Distress Oxide Inks:

Sun– Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Salvaged Patina, Mowed Lawn, Kitsch Flamingo

Sunglasses– Black Soot, Hickory Smoke

Drink– Salvaged Patina, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo

Shovel– Salvaged Patina, Twisted Citron

Seashells– Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold

For a touch of sparkle, I added glitter to the rim of the margarita glass. The striped straw was die cut from leftover cardstock from a previous project.

To complete the card, I arranged and adhered everything to the background panel. I finished the design with a white heat embossed “Hello Sunshine” sentiment on a vellum banner and mounted the panel onto a card base with a thin white border.
