Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing a yummy “Let’s Celebrate” card featuring the Sweet Americana Die Set along with the So Radiant Stencil Collection from Papertry Ink’s latest release. The Sweet Americana set includes popsicles, pie, ice cream, watermelon and patriotic-themed accessories perfect for creating festive summer projects. For my project, I created a summertime treat card.
To begin, I ink blended a radiant background onto an A2 panel of white cardstock using Salvage Patina Distress Oxide and the So Radiant Stencil Collection. I then die cut a white layering panel using the largest die from the Love to Layer: Whimsy set. and adhered it to the background with foam tape for added dimension.
Next, I die cut all the watermelon, popsicle, drizzle, pie, ice cream pieces from white cardstock and ink blended them using the following inks and Distress Oxides:
- Ice Cream– Ice cream scoop- Spun Sugar, Cone- Fine Linen, Vintage Cream
- Watermelon– Festive Berries, Candy Apple, Lucy Clover (seeds were die cut from black cardstock)
- Pie– Fine Linen, Vintage Cream, Honey Nut, Weathered Wood
- Popsicle– Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Vintage Cream
- Cherries– Pure Poppy, Gathered Twigs
For the snow cone, I created the shaved ice by ink blending the ice cream scoop die cut with Pure Poppy and Blue Print Sketch Distress Oxide. I added pattern to the paper cone using the dotted stencil from the Sweet American Set with Hibiscus Burst Ink and Salvage Patina Distress Oxide. I trimmed off the bottom of the ice cream scoop and adhered it to the top of the cone.
To create the icy-sugary texture, I lightly spread glitter adhesive over the shaved ice area and sprinkled Rock Candy glitter on top. I used a white paint marker to add highlights and extra detail.
I adhered everything to the front panel and finished the card with a pink stamped “Celebrate” sentiment from This Is Big Sentiments: Celebrate Set.
