Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to Day 1 of sneak peeks for the May/June Release from Pretty Pink Posh! This collection is filled with adorable bugs and timeless essentials that are perfect for all kinds of crafty designs. For today’s card, I’m showcasing the sweet dragonflies from the Stitched Bugs Die Set along with the Eyelet Hexagons, Everyday Branches, Hello Shadow Die and the Checkered Pierced Plate.
To begin, I created a soft cloudy sky background on a 5 14″ x 4″ white cardstock panel using the Layered Cloud Stencils and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I then splattered the panel with the same distress oxide mixed with water for added texture.
Next, I die cut some branches and leaves from the Everyday Branches set. I ink blended the branches with Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Inks, while the leaves were blended with Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, and Bundled Sage.
For the focal images, I die cut two dragonflies from the Stitched Bugs set. The purple dragonfly with Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Shaded Lilac, while the peach dragonfly was colored using Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick, and Tattered Rose. I added two vellum wings with a touch of glitter for extra dimension and sparkle.
I then die cut an Eyelet Hexagon layered over a checkered pierced background created with the Checkered Pierced Plate.
For the sentiment, I die cut “Hello” from turquoise cardstock using the Large Hello Shadow Die. To finish the card, I framed the scene with a turquoise and white border and added a few sequins for a little extra shine.
