Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Lawn Fawn Spring, Too Release Week and I’m excited to share a fun and interactive rainbow card featuring Lawn Fawn’s new Over The Rainbow Die! This set is really easy and fun to use- it includes a clever sliding mechanism that transforms your rainbow into a 3D design. You can use colored cardstock strips or customize your own with colouring. Lawn Fawn also has a helpful instructional video for this set Intro to Over The Rainbow.
To begin, I die cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ front panel along with the tab slider mechanism using Robin’s Egg cardstock from the Spiffy Speckles Paper Pack. I centered the rectangle window die on the panel and die cut the opening. Then, I die cut the rainbow from white cardstock. I colored each of the rainbow strips with Copic markers listed below.
To assemble the interactive element, I adhered the top and bottom of the rainbow to the tab slider mechanism using double-sided tape. Then I lined up the rainbow behind the front panel, removed the tape backing, and secured it in place.
I die cut 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ back panel from Mist cardstock and adhered the front panel ( the slider mechanism) using foam tape. I die cut two ocean waves using the Ocean Waves Borders from white cardstock, then ink blended the waves with Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass Distess Oxides. After adhering the waves to the front of the card, I added a touch of white glitter to create a foamy wave effect.
I stamped and die cut the images with the coordinating dies and color them with Copic markers listed below. Once finished, I adhered the images onto the front panel and stamped the sentiment “Have A Happy Day” onto the slider piece.
I completed the card with a “Make A Splash” sentiment onto a white banner (trimmed to fit).
