Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing a cheerful spring rooster card created with Country Rooster Die and Stencil Set and the Stems & Blooms Stencil Collection Set from Papertrey Ink’s latest release. The rooster set includes decorative stencils for adding fun patterns, and I kept the background clean and simple so those details could really shine.
To begin, I created a soft floral background on an A2 white panel using the Stems & Blooms Stencil Collection. This set includes individual flower and leaf stencils, making it easy to mix, match, layer or just use on their own.
I then die cut the rooster along with the legs, comb, and wattle. Using a coordinating stencil, I added a decorative pattern to the rooster’s body, then inked the comb and wattle with Pure Poppy and the legs with Vintage Cream.
For the background design and the rooster pattern, I used the following inks:
Pinks: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony
Red: Pure Poppy
Yellow: Harvest Gold
Orange: Summer Sunrise
Greens: New Leaf, Mint Julep
I adhered the rooster to the front panel and finished the card with “Spring Is In The Air” sentiment from This Is Big Sentiments: Spring Stamp Set.
