Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m sharing a cheerful birthday card featuring the Uplifted By Nature Dies from Papertrey Ink’s latest release. This set is perfect for creating sweet outdoor scenes and I had so much fun building this bright, balloon-filled design.
To begin, I created a soft cloud background by ink blending Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide over A2 white cardstock using the Cloud Stencil Collection. I then lightly blended Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide along the bottom of the panel to ground the scene. To frame everything, I added a stitched frame using a die in my stash.
Next, I die cut the tree, grass, and balloons and ink blended them with the following Distress Oxides listed below:
- Balloons– Kitsch Flamingo, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade
- Tree- Gathered Twigs
- Grass- Mowed Lawn ( I added some green watercolor splatters for extra detail)
Once all the elements were ready, I adhered them to the front panel to complete the scene.
To finish, I stamped “happy” with Pure Poppy ink, then added a white heat embossed “Birthday” sentiment. I added a few crystal gems for some sparkle to complete the card.
