YOU MAKE ME SOY HAPPY WITH LAWN FAWN

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m sharing a sweet sushi-belt-themed Valentine’s card featuring the adorable sushi set from the latest Valentines release.

I began by die cutting the back panel with pink cardstock using the Large Slimline Die. I then white heat -embossed the outline hearts onto the panel using the Outline Hearts Stencil. For the slider panel, I die cut the smaller slimline rectangle from white cardstock, as well as another from dark pink cardstock, and adhered the dark pink rectangle to the center of the back panel.

Next, I inked blended the background with the Lots of Hearts Background Stencil using Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I used the slider die from the set to cut the slot in the panel, then flipped it over and added double-sided foam tape around all four edges.

To create the sliding mechanism, I die cut three 3/4″ circles and three 1/2″ circles out of heavy scrap cardstock. I glued three small lego pieces to the center of each larger circle (anything can be used as long as it is smaller than the 3/4″ circle and can fit through the slot). I positioned them on the card base, and carefully lined them up with the slider panel so the Lego pieces fit through the slot. I then glued the smaller circles on top and set everything aside to dry.

I stamped and die cut all the images with the coordinating dies. I colored the images with Copic markers listed below. Once finished, I arranged the images onto the card front and adhered the sushi plates to the sliding circles for that fun conveyor-belt effect.

I stamped Valentine’s sentiments onto the speech bubbles and I finished off the card with “You Make Me Soy Happy in red ink.
