FESTIVE ROOTS WITH PAPERTREY INK

Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I’m sharing a holiday shaker card featuring the Festive Roots set from Papertrey Ink’s latest release. Shaker cards are always fun to make (and receive!), and this one has a soft metallic twist.

I began by hot foiling a subtle metallic leaf border on white cardstock using the Fresh Greens Hot Foil Plate giving the card a soft shimmer. To make the shaker, I die cut the frame using the In Frames: Ovals Die Collection from white cardstock. I then die cut two ovals slightly smaller than the frame, one from acetate and another from white cardstock using an oval die in my stash.

I ran my embossing powder tool across the acetate oval to reduce static and adhered it onto the backside of the frame. I added shaker elements to the white base and sealed everything together with the framed acetate window.

I stamped the images using the following inks:

• Trees- Sweet Blush, New Leaf, Aqua Mist
• Pots- Lilac Grace
• Garland- Silver Metallic Ink

For extra shine, I silver heat embossed the details on the pot and tied a piece of silver cord around the center pot.

I adhered the shaker piece onto the card base and the trees over top. I completed the card with the sentiment from the set, “May your days be merry” and a white border to frame the design.
