Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I’m excited to share a bright and cheerful holiday card featuring Papertrey Ink’s Love To Layer: Christmas Tree die set and the playful Dotted Line Stencil Collection from the September Release.
I began by stenciling a colourful dotted pattern onto white cardstock using the Dotted Line Stencil Collection with the following distress oxides: Kitsch Flamingo, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, Salvaged Patina, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, and Carved Pumpkin. I rounded the corners with a corner punch.
Next, I layered a panel of vellum over the background. To give it texture, I die cut it with Cover Plate: Stitched Snowflakes and framed it using the Rounded Rectangle: Stitched Dies. I adhered the vellum panel over the dotted line background.
I die cut the tree, trunk, and ornaments out of white cardstock and added color with ink blending: the tree with Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass, the ornaments with Kitsch Flamingo, Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed, and Mowed Lawn, and the trunk with Pumice Stone. I added gold bows and clear enamel dots onto the elements. I die cut the garland with white sparkle cardstock and stars out of Gold Metallic Cardstock. I adhered everything together and onto the background.
To complete the card, I added a white “Happy Holidays” sentiment, a white rounded edge border, and some snow details.
