Hello Crafty Friends! I’m sharing a fun scratch-off Halloween card featuring the It’s Crystal Clear set form Papertrey Ink’s August Release.
I began by stencilling a spider web background onto an A2 white cardstock panel, then added black watercolor splatters for texture. To frame it, I used a stitched rectangle border die from my stash.
Next, I die cut two mats from the Mat Stack: Halloween Collection – the larger from black cardstock and the smaller from vellum. I hot foiled silver stars using the Star Gazing Hot Foil Plate onto the black mat, then layered the vellum over top.
I die cut the crystal ball and ink blended the glass with Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides. The base was blended with Black Soot, then spritzed wth water. I added a pumpkin and a cute little ghost, ink blending the ghost edges with Kitsch Flamingo and the pumpkins with the colors listed below. Everything was then layered onto the card front, with a few little spiders tucked in for spooky fun.
To make the interactive element, I die cut the scratch-off circle from the set. I stamped the Halloween greeting (from Make a Little Magic Sentiments) into the crystal ball center, then covered it with a round silver scratch-off sticker. I added a smaller scratch off sticker printed with “Scratch Here” sticker from my stash (you can also stamp or handwrite this). Finally, I assembled the crystal ball and tied a piece of black and silver twine around the base.
I completed the card with some extra silver stars for sparkle.
