Hello Crafty Friends! I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I have been busy sightseeing and travelling and will be back soon. In the meantime, I’m sharing a cheerful birthday card featuring the Build-A-Cake die set and my favourite critters, the Capybaras from Lawn Fawn’s new release!
To start, I created a festive confetti background using Confetti Stencils with Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, Kitsch Flamingo, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides. For a bit of shimmer, I added a spritz of Gold Shimmer Craft Spray and set the panel it aside to dry.

Next, I die cut a white scalloped frame using the Scalloped Frames dies and cut all the pieces needed for the layered cake.I die cut all the elements to the cake. I ink blended the layers with Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxides. I added subtle shadowing to the icing with Copic Marker C0.
The candles were blended with Kitsch Flamingo and the flames with Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Festive Berries Distress Oxides. For a sweet touch, I added strawberries, ink blended with Festive Berries and Mowed Lawn.
The cake plate was die cut from Gold Metallic Cardstock for a touch of shine.
I then stamped and die cut the critters and party hats using the coordinating dies. I coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below.
For the sentiment, I white heat embossed “Have A Very Capy” onto a pink banner, then added a scripty “Birthday” die-cut sentiment to complete the greeting. I finished the card with a thin pink border around the edge.
Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you like my card!
