Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m excited to share a sailboat-themed card featuring Build-A-Sailboat from Papertrey Ink’s June Release.
To begin, I lightly ink blended an A2 sized white panel with Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides. I die cut a frame using the Reflections: November die and added some texture with the Quilted Cover Plate. I lightly inked the inside frame with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for extra depth.
Next, I die cut the sailboat and its accessories. I ink blended the sails with Festive Berries, Kitsch Flamingo, and Tattered Rose, while the hull and flag were shaded with Festive Berries. I used Blueprint Sketch for the mast and added a touch of beige twine for a realistic nautical touch.
The edges of the clouds were inked with Salty Ocean and I added a sun inked with Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade.

For the ocean waves, I created a gradient from the bottom to the top using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Salvaged Patina, and Tumbled Glass. I added some highlights with a white gel pen to mimic the glimmer of light on water.
To finished the scene, I layered the waves and clouds with vellum for added dimension and adhered everything onto the main panel. A bold “Thinking Of You” sentiment from This Is Big Sentiments: Thinking Of You completed the card.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you enjoyed this project and feel inspired to set sail on your next creative adventure!
