Howdy, Crafty Friends! It’s May Release Day at Papertrey Ink, and this month collection is bursting with creativity- from lemon blossoms and refreshing lemonade to western flair with bandanas, lassos, boots, and tool belts. And for those who love baby-themed projects, there are sweet baby booties and charming buggies too!
For my first project, I’m showcasing a Western inspired card featuring the playful Cowboy Boot Die paired with the detailed Bandana Coverplate. If you love designing outfits and accessories, this set is a must-try- it includes etched die designs and coordinating stencils to customize your boots!
To begin, I swiped my Spring Rain Dye Ink Pad directly over the Bandana Coverplate. I placed it ink side down over A2 White Cardstock and ran it through my die-cutting machine. I adhered the inked panel onto another piece of A2 White Cardstock base, then inlaid a few design elements back into the cutouts for extra dimension.
Next, I die cut the cowboy boot and ink blended it with Spring Rain and Antique Ivory Ink. using the coordinating stencils, I added details with Amber, New Leaf, and Summer Sunrise inks. I added a gold enamel dot as a finishing touch.
I added blooms from the Into The Blooms: Wild Wood set. I ink blended the leaves with New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse and Green Parakeet, while the flowers feature Lemon Whip and Sumer Sunrise. For a touch of sparkle, I added Nuvo Drops to the center of the flowers.
To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment “My Hero Wears Cowboy Boots” sentiment from the Cowboy Logic set- a collection full of fun, Western themed phrases.
