KUNG FU PANDA WITH LAWN FAWN

Hello Crafty Friends! One of my favourite Challenges is happening at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #193 is to create a project inspired by a book, movie or song. I am joining in the fun with this birthday card inspired by the movie Kung Fu Panda!

To begin, I lightly ink blended a cloudy background on an A2 White Cardstock panel using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. Then, I blended another A2 white cardstock panel with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and ran it through my die-cutting machine with the Fancy Lattice Backdrop Die.

Next, I adhered the Fancy Lattice Background over the cloudy panel for added dimension. I die-cut the Bamboo Frame from White Cardstock and inked the bottom with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide. The bamboo stalks were also ink-blended with Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide. For a fun detail, I created a bamboo hat using the umbrella die from the Build-A-Drink set!

For the interactive element, I incorporated the Waving Pull Tab using the Waving Pull Tab Starter Set. I used the vertical die from the set to create a slot in the card front. I stamped and die-cut all my images with their coordinating dies. I colored them with Copic markers (listed below) and attached Po’s arms to the pull tab with brads, allowing them to move through the slots! (For more detailed instructions, check out my “Fishing with Lawn Fawn” post.) I hand drew the robes on the bunnies with a black Copic Multi-liner 0.25 pen.

I adhered the bamboo frame onto the front panel. I die cut a Grassy Border and ink blended with Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides and splattered some green watercolour. I adhered the Grassy Border onto the bottom of the frame. I then adhered all the images onto the card.

I finished off the card with a fun “HIYAH” die cut with White Cardstock and ink blended with Candy Apple Distress Oxide.
