PANDA LUNAR NEW YEAR WITH LAWN FAWN

Happy New Year! Today, I am sharing a Lunar New Year card created with the I Heart Pandas set. Lunar New Year starts on January 29th and I decided to feature pandas as Pandas are symbolic of luck, peace, and patience. I added some fans in my card as fans are a symbol of union and happiness.

To start, I diecut A2 background with Strawberry Frosting Cardstock. Next, I die cut a fancy lattice backdrop out of White Cardstock and adhered it onto the background.

To make the frame, I die cut the Secret Garden Window with Strawberry Frosting Cardstock and trimmed off the leaves and flowers. I created a bamboo background using Bamboo Stencils ink blended with Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Shabby Shutters Distress Oxides. I splattered some gold watercolour onto the bamboo background for added interest.

I diecut some flowers from Spring Flowers Backdrop and Happy Hibiscus out of White Cardstock. I ink blended the centers with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxides and added some sparkly gold crystals.

To make the fans, I used the rainbow die from Stitched Rainbow and My Rainbow Lawn Cuts. I ink blended the fold lines using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide and splattered the fans with gold watercolor. For the base, I diecut the citrus slice die with Sparkle Cardstock- Gold. I trimmed the slices to fit the base of the fan and adhered with glue.

I stamped and die cut the pandas and bamboo stalk. I coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below. I adhered the images onto the front of the card. I added a scalloped rectangle frame and I finished off the card with a Happy New Year sentiment.
