Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing another card created with Papertrey Ink’s September Release. The Gingerbread Builder die set is loaded with many versatile dies to build a variety of different gingerbread people and even comes with fun peppermint candy and baking tool accessories!
For this card, I wanted to make a gift card holder for the upcoming holiday season. To start, I created two backgrounds for the card. I die cut a quilted background with White Cardstock using the Quilted Cover Plate (A). Next, I used the Watercolor Plaid Stencil to create a plaid background. I ink blended the background with Spun Sugar, Kirsch Flamingo, Shabby Shutters, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides (B). I used the same colors to ink blend the plaid on leftover White Cardstock to be used to die cut the bow.
I die cut the bow on the bottom of the White Quilted background (A) from Elegant Edges: Bow Die set. I die cut another bow using the same set with the plaid background. I adhered the plaid bow onto the bottom of the White Quilted background (A).
Next, I adhered the front of the card onto the back. I scored a fold line 1/2″ from the top of (A). I creased the fold with a bone folder. I used a tape runner on the 1/2″ fold and adhered it onto the back plaid panel (B).
I die cut Ric Rac borders using Pink Cardstock and adhered the borders on the front and back panels.
I die cut the gingerbread people using Kraft Cardstock. I splattered some White Acrylic Paint mixed with water onto the gingerbread people for added texture. I die cut the other coordinating pieces out of White, Pink, Red, and Green Cardstock.
I wanted to add some texture on the hat and the dress. I embossed the hat and dress using a Sweater Embossing folder.
I die cut the gift pocket out of White Cardstock. I added a Red Heat Embossed “Happy Holidays” on vellum sentiment onto the gift pocket and a Red Ink stamped “To You and Yours” from Vintage Holiday Flair.
