Hello Crafty Friends! There’s a new Challenge at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #173 is to create a project using dies only. For this Challenge, I was inspired by the new Froyo Friend die in the summer release! The Froyo Friend die reminds me of Disney Dole Whip and I thought it would be fun to create a card featuring the Disney treat!
To start, I die cut the background using the Sunburst Backdrop with White Cardstock. I added a stitched border by running the panel through my die cut machine the largest die from Outside in Stitched Rectangles. I splattered some pink watercolour for added texture and set the panel aside to dry.
Next, I die cut two pineapples from the Playful Pineapple set. I ink blended the pineapples with Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides and the crowns with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides. I die cut two Hibiscus flowers from the same set and ink blended the flowers with Kirsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I added some sunglasses from Woodland Critter Huggers Summer Add-On. I shortened the length of the sunglasses by snipping the bridge of the glasses and adhering the two frames together.
I die cut the Dole Whip using the Froyo Friend die. I ink blended the whip with Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw Distress Oxides and the cup with Festive Berries Distress Oxide. I added a Mickey Mouse icon die cut with Circle Stackables and ink blended the circles with Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides.
The “Whip” wording was inspired by Mickey Mouse. I die cut the word with Quinn’s ABCs Lawn Cuts and coloured the letters with Copic Markers listed below. I stamped and die cut the images and colored the images with Copic Markers listed below. I die cut the spoon using the die from Magic Picture Changer Oven Add-On with Metallic Cardstock-Silver.
I finished off the card with a sentiment from Simply Summer Sentiments stamped onto Stitched Sentiment Banners and I adhered the card onto 4.25″ x 5.5″ trimmed card stock from Really Rainbow Petite Paper Pack.
