Hello Crafty Friends! I am sharing a card created for the new Challenge at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #172 is Inspired By: Pick a DT member or LF card that inspired you.
I wanted to create a sports themed card for a special somebody who is into kick boxing. I thought it would be cute to feature the new Kangaroo set and I loved how Caly used the “You Are #1” giant sentiment in one of her previous cards. To start, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to Next, I ink blended the panel with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides using the Sunray Background Stencil. I splattered some blue watercolour onto the panel for added texture.
For the boxing ring ground, I trimmed yellow cardstock from Really Rainbow Petite Paper Pack to 1.25″ H x 4″W. I ink blended some Squeeze Lemonade Distress Oxide onto the ground to increase the intensity of the color.
For the ring pillars or poles, I die cut the chimney piece from Rooftop Borders out of White Cardstock. I ink blended the pieces with Aged Mahogany and Festive Berries Distress Oxides. I added ropes by stretching out the clothes line in Little Bundle and stamping with Black Memento Ink.
I adhered the ground, rope and pillars onto the background. I added a stitched border by running it through my die cut machine with the largest rectangle in Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables.
I stamped and die cut the images with the coordinating dies and colored the images with Copic Markers list below.
I die cut the Giant “You Are #1” with White Cardstock and Barn Red Cardstock. I adhered the white sentiment over the red with a slight overlap and adhered the sentiment onto the background panel.
I adhered the kangaroos onto the background panel and finished off the card by adhering the trophy onto the giant sentiment.
