Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing a donut themed card created with the new Give It A Whirl Interactive Die set!
To make the “donut box,” I trimmed a piece of White Cardstock to 9″L x 4.5″W for the card base. I scored down the middle of the card base. I die cut a window onto one half using the 3.5″ x 3.5″ square die from Large Stitched Square Stackables. I then die cut two square frames out of paper from Rainbow Ever After Petite Paper Pack. using the 4.5″ x 4.5″ square die from the same set. I die cut a border on the bottom using the same square die. I adhere one frame onto the front of the card. I adhered an acetate window and the other frame onto the back of the card. I stamped donuts onto the other half of the base using the donut from the Donut Worry set with Jellyfish ink and I adhered a border onto the bottom.

I die cut the Give It A Whirl mechanism with White Cardstock. I created the donut by making a mask for the donut hole using the 1/2″ circle from Circle Stackables and a mask for the icing. For the icing mask, I drew the icing on masking paper using the ink splatter die from Art Supplies as a guide.

I ink blended the donut with Tea Dye and Antique Linen Distress Oxides. I ink blended the icing with Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I drew sprinkles on the icing with Copic Markers listed below. For the background, I ink blended a brick wall using the Brick Stencil with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide. I added splatters on the brick wall with some black watercolour. The bottom of the background was ink blended lightly with Kitch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I stamped the sentiment onto the background with Lobster Ink.

I stamped and die cut the images with the cordinating dies. I coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below. I adhered the images onto the background piece and ran it through my diecut machine using the die in the set to make the slot on the side.

I put together the mechanism. The Lawn Fawn video has excellent instructions, Give It A Whirl Instructions.
Some extra tips: As I had several layered images on my bottom layer, I found it useful to use double the thickness of foam tape to adhere the mechanism onto the background. Also helpful is to ensure that the images are adhered tightly onto the background. I also doubled the thickness of the pull tab.
I finished off the card with a White Heat Embossed tag and some pink twine.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you like my card!
