Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing another card for the the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #169, Inspired by a Book, Movie, Song or Show. I am having so much fun with this challenge, I created a Sesame Street inspired birthday card. My kids are past the Sesame Street phase but I still have fond childhood memories of the show.
For the background, I die cut paper from the new Rainbow Ever After paper pack with the largest rectangle from Outside In Rectangle Stackables. I added a thin white border by adhering the background onto White Cardstock and then I added a colourful striped border with paper from Really Rainbow Petite Paper Pack.
For the characters, I die cut the pieces as seen in the pictures below out of White and Black Cardstock. I labelled the pieces with numbers corresponding to the sets used under the Lawn Fawn Supplies at the bottom of this post.
For the Upper Lips, the Ocean Accent Wave die was too long, so I only ran the die partially through my die cut machine. I fussy cut Cookie Monster’s eyebrows, Elmo’s hands, and Cookie’s hand, and I used another head for Cookie’s body.

I ink blended the characters with the following Distress Oxides:
Cookie Monster- Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch
Oscar The Grouch- Mowed Lawn and Bundled Sage, Gathered Twigs and Antique Linen
Elmo- Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries, Dried Marigold
I die cut the garbage can and lid using the jar die and lid die from How You Bean? sets. I trimmed the jar to resemble more of a garbage can. I ink blended the garbage can and lid with Hickory Smoke and added lines with Black Soot.

I added some balloons ink blended with Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, and Squeezed Lemonade. I splattered some water color onto the balloons. I die cut “C” from Louie’s ABCs and ink blended with Festive Berries Distress Oxide.
The street sign was made with Street Bubbles and a circle die from Circle Stackables. I ink blend the edges with Squeezed Lemonade and the inside with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides.
I added a cookie from Milk and Cookies and I finished off the card with White Heat Embossed sentiments on Black Cardstock. For a chalkboard effect, I rubbed the Black Cardstock with an Anti- Static Pouch.
The Challenge is open until Sunday, March 31st at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to receive a $50 Lawn Fawn gift card and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog!
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you like my card!
