Hello Crafty Friends! The first Lawn Fawnatics Challenge of 2024 is underway! The Challenge is “Let’s Celebrate!” For this Challenge, I created a card celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year which runs from February 10th to the 17th. This lunar year celebrates the Year of the Dragon. The dragon is a symbol of strength and power, wealth and wisdom, and is one of the luckiest animals in the Chinese Zodiac which makes 2024 a year of prosperity!

To start, I trimmed Yeti Cardstock into A2 size for the background panel. Next, I die cut the pretty lattice backdrop using the Fancy Lattice Die. I adhered the lattice on top of the background panel. Next, I die cut a rectangle using the largest die from Outside in Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I then die cut the window using the frame from Secret Garden Window Frame. Starting from the bottom of the frame, i ink blended the frame with Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Distress Oxides. Next, I adhered the frame onto the lattice background with foam tape.
To make the scroll, I die cut two rolling pins from Baked With Love out of paper from Spiffier Speckles Petite Paper Pack. I die cut vellum using the smallest rectangle from Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I trimmed a rectangle slightly larger than the vellum die cut. I cut the rolling pins to fit the width of the rectangle with the handles showing and glued the rolling pins onto the top and bottom of the rectangle. I wrapped the base of the handles with some gold floss.
I White Heat embossed the sentiment on the vellum and adhered it onto the scroll. I adhered the scroll onto the center of the card with some double sided foam tape.
I stamped and die cut the images and coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below. I added fireworks behind the firecrackers.
I finished off the card with some Cherry Blossoms which were die cut using the Cherry Blossoms dies in Let’s Roll.
The Challenge is open until January 14th at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to receive a $50 Lawn Fawn gift card and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog!
