Happy New Year Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing my first card for 2024 featuring the cute porcupine in the Valentine’s release. I was inspired by the sentiment “Quill You Be Mine?” and I thought it would be fun to create a card using paper quilling!
To start, I die cut the background using the Quilted Hear Backdrop. I adhered it onto another piece of A2 size White Cardstock. I added some pink hearts onto the background for some color.
To make the paper quill hearts, I die cut two hearts from Heart Stackables out of White Card Stock for the base. I adhered the hearts onto the background. I then trimmed 1/4″ wide strips of varying lengths of card stock from the Textured Canvas Cardstock Pink paper pack. I adhered glue around the hearts and I wrapped a strip of cardstock around each of the hearts and trimmed off the ends.
I twirled strips of varying lengths around a thin pencil and then played around with the placement of the twirled strips until I was satisfied with the design. I adhered glue onto the bottom of the twirled strips and adhered them into place inside the hearts. I added a twirled heart onto the side.
I stamped and diecut the cute porcupine and heart from Porcu-pine For You. I coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below. I added a White Heat Embossed sentiment from the same set.

To finish off the card, I added a pink border using cardstock from the same paper pack and a white scalloped border.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I wish you a wonderful start of the year!

Thanks so much Lori! I have only attempted to quill several times and it’s quite fun!
