BUNDLE OF HUGS WITH WHIMSY STAMPS

Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing a fun one layer card created with Whimsy Stamps’ new no-fuss masks. Whimsy Stamps have introduced re-positionable image masks which coordinates with some of their stamp sets. Each coordinating set comes with 4 sheets of re-positioning images which is perfect for creating one layer cards! No more fussy cutting masks to get the one layer effect!

Many thanks to Denise and Deb at Whimsy Stamps for sending the adorable Bundle of Hugs set with the coordinating masks. I had a lot of fun creating with the set!

To start, I die cut the front panel with White Card Stock using a wonky stitches die in my stash. Next, I stamped the images in the following order ( starting with the image at the front and working towards the back) and placed the masks over top of each image after stamping:

1. Acorn on the left hand on the squirrel

2. Acorns on the bottom left

3. Acorns on the bottom right

4. Squirrel

5. Acorn on the right hand

For the single acorns, I trimmed the acorn mask into one acorn as the stamp is actually two acorns together. As I wanted a softer look for the card, I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink to stamp the images.

To create the background, I placed a birch tree stencil and grass stencil over the masked images. I lightly blended the trees with Lost Shadow Distress Oxide. I placed the inverse birch tree stencil over the inked trees and lightly blended the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. I splattered some water mixed with the same ink for added interest. I then inked the grass with Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide using the grass stencil.

I removed all the stencils and coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the set onto vellum and adhered it onto the bottom of the card. I added a A2 white card base to finish off my single layer card and viola, my single layer card is completed!
