Hello Crafty Friends! It’s time for a new Challenge at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #155 is to create a 3D card or project. For this project, I was inspired by the Barbie movie which I just recently saw with my daughter. I thought it would be fun to create a Barbie inspired birthday card!
To start, I die cut the front and back of the box using the Shadow Box Card set with Lucky Penny Paper. I die cut the front window using a window die from the set.
Next, I created the sky background. I die cut a piece of 3 1/4″W x 2 3/4″H white card stock with my paper trimmer. I used the Corner Rainbow Stencil and ink blended the rainbow with Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I masked off the rainbow and ink blended the clouds using the Cloudy Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. I adhered the background to the back piece of the Shadow Box.

I die cut two hills from the set. I ink blended the hills with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and splattered the hills with yellow/brown water-colour for added details. I die cut two roads with On The Road. I ink blended the road with Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxides. I trimmed the roads to fit onto the hills and adhered the roads onto the center of both hills.
I adhered the Shadow Box together with the hill and road inserts.
I die cut the palm trees and ink blended the trunk with Tea Dye Distress Oxide and the leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide.
I stamped the image and die cut the images with the coordinating dies. I coloured all the images with Copic Markers listed below. For Barbie’s dress and hat, I used the the plaid stencil and ink blended pink plaid background using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide. I stamped the image and hat onto the background and fussy cut the dress and hat.

For the car, I masked off the top half of the stamp and stamped the bottom half of the car. I made the steering wheel using circle stamps from Let’s Bokeh and the window die from Mushroom House.
To make the roller skates, I stamped the socks from Loads of Fun and added two bubbles from Scripty Bubble Stentiment for the wheels. I hand drew the toe stopper and at the laces.

I adhered all the images onto the shadow box. I finished off the card with “Let’s Go” stamped onto Fancy Folded Banners along with the pink heat embossed word, “Party”.
The Challenge is open until Sunday, September 3rd at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to receive a $50 Lawn Fawn gift card and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you like my Shadow Box card!
