FISHING WITH LAWN FAWN

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! Challenge #154 is Into the Woods! Create a project mountain, woodland, or rustic theme! For this Challenge, I was inspired by River Fishing in the mountains. I thought it would be fun to create a fishing themed card using the Waving Pull Tab die.

To start, I created a mountain background by ink blending A2 white card stock with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide using the Mountain Stencil. I then masked the mountains with the stencil and added a cloudy sky by ink blending Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide with the Cloudy Stencil. I splattered blue water-colour onto the clouds and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide mixed with water onto the mountains. I set the panel aside to dry.

Next, I die cut the river waves with vellum using Stitched Wave Borders. I ink blended the waves with Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides and I splattered some blue water color and white acrylic paint. I adhered the waves onto the background panel.

Once the panel was dried, I use the dies in the Waving Pull Tab Starter set to create the mechanism. I stamped, die cut, and coloured the bear arms from Snow Much Fun and weaved the arms through the slots.

I then die cut the tree backdrop. I ink blended the tree with Tea Dye Distress Oxide and added texture with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide. I trimmed the tree so that the bottom of the trunk would not show under the water. I then die cut a frame out of paper from Stripes ‘n Sprinkles Collection Pack and used the tab opening die in the set to create the opening at the bottom of the frame.

I stamped and die cut all the images. I drew the fishing vest onto the bear with a black multiliner. I coloured all the images with Copic Markers. I added leaves inked blended with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide onto the tree and rocks ink blended with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide. I adhered all the images onto the card and added some puffy clouds and a sentiment from You’re Clawsome.
