Hello Crafty Friends! It’s time for another Challenge at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #147 is to Create a Scene: Country vs. City. For my first card for this Challenge, I created a City themed card inspired by all our Superheroes.
To start, I die cut and assembled the base with the Platform Pop-Up Die. I created the buildings using Village Borders partially die cut through, two die cut towers from Build-A-Castle, and a 1″W x 2.5″H rectangle cut with my paper trimmer. I used the arch frames in the Build-A-Castle set and the window frames from Build-A-Barn to make the window openings in the buildings. I lightly inked white cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide and adhered the background behind the window openings.
For the clouds, I die cut a set of clouds using Platform Pop-Up Cloud Inserts and two cloudy borders using Puffy Cloud Borders. I inked the edges of all the clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and splattered some blue watercolor mixed with water.

I die cut 2 pieces of white cardstock with the Hillside Wrap Around die and 1 piece of white cardstock with the coordinating front stitched sentiment panel. Using the Sunray Stencil, I inked the two wrap around panels, and the sentiment panel with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide. I splattered the panels with light orange watercolor mixed with water.
For the grassy road border, I die cut a grassy border .75″H using the Grassy Border Die. I masked off 1/4″ from the bottom and inked the grass with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress. I removed the mask and inked the bottom with Black Soot Distress Oxide. I drew white lines across the road with a white gelly roll pen.

I die cut several stars from Mini Pop-Up Box and inked the stars with Squeezed Lemonade, Festive Berries, Spun Sugar, Blueprint Sketch, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides.
Next, I stamped and die cut the mice, cape, mask, fire truck, police car, and ambulance and coloured the images with Copic Markers listed below.
I glued the Superhero mouse and the stars and cloud onto strips of acetate. I adhered the Platform Pop Up together and added the images around the sides. I finished off the Platform Pop-Up Card with a White Heat Embossed Sentiment.
The Challenge is open until Sunday, April 30th at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to receive a $50 Lawn Fawn gift card and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog!
