DUMBO INSPIRED BIRTHDAY CARD WITH LAWN FAWN

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! Challenge #145 is to create a project inspired by a book, movie, or song. This Challenge is so fun and it’s one of my favourites! For this Challenge, I was inspired by Dumbo and used the new adorable Elephant Parade set. Rather than using traditional carnival circus colors, red, white, and black, I wanted to try softer colors.

For the background, I ink blended A2 white cardstock using the Sunray Background Stencil with Salvaged Patina, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides. To make the puffy cloud background, I used the Cloud Background Hotfoil Plate with silver foil on A2 white cardstock. The silver foil was not very obvious which I thought was okay as the background was already quite busy. I trimmed the cloud background with the largest rectangle from Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles. I adhered the rectangle onto the Sunray background.

I die cut the tent using paper from the Flower Market Collection Pack with the tent from Build-A- Campsite and Textured Canvas Pink Cardstock. I ink blended the inside of the tent and ties with Lobster Ink. I die cut the bunting using the same paper with Fishtail Banner Borders. Next, I die cut the tickets using the Raffle Ticket Die and ink blended the edges with Squeezed Lemonade, Salvaged Patina, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides. I stamped the ticket with sentiments from Wheely Great Day.

I stamped and coloured all the images from Elephant Parade and Elephant Parade Add-On with Copic Markers listed below. I made the Dumbo hat using the witch’s hat from Booyah and the nurse’s hat from Get Well Before’ n ‘ Afters. For the collar, I used the cloud stamp in Fly High and trimmed it to fit around Dumbo’s neck. I finished off the card with a few puffy clouds and added a sentiment from Elephant Parade Add-On.
