Hello Crafty Friends! It’s time for a new Challenge at Lawn Fawnatics! Challenge #143 is to create a project inspired by where you live. As I have just recently moved back to Canada, my card features some of my favourite things that Canada is known for, beavers, moose, bears, snow, skiing, and maple syrup!
To start, I die cut A2 sized white cardstock with the largest rectangle from Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Using the Cloudy Stencil, I ink blended the clouds with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide. I die cut Stitched Mountain Borders and ink blended the mountains with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide. I splattered some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide mixed with water and sprayed some Shimmer Sparkle Spray for texture. I adhered the mountain border onto the cloudy background.
I stamped, diecut and colored all the images with Copic Markers listed below.
For the moving tail mechanism, I used the Waving Pull Tab set. Using the die in the set, I die cut the slits for the arms 1 1/2″ from the bottom of the card. I then made another hole lower (highlighted in red below) than the original so that the hole for the arms were roughly in the middle of the slits.

For the beavers, I used the tails of the two beavers from Wood You Be Mine? I trimmed off the tails after I colored them (see below) and I adhered the tails onto the bear arms from Snow Much Fun after I put the arms into the slits.

I die cut the snowy hills using Stitched Hillside Borders. I die cut small snow piles on the front snowy hill to tuck in the beaver and tree stump using Sandy Beach Accents. I adhered the snowy hills onto the card with foam tape. Next, I die cut “CANADA” using Henry’s ABC’s and ink blended the letters with Festive Berries and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.
I adhered the card onto a Ruby Red background and finished off the card with a White Heat embossed sentiment.

The Challenge is open until Sunday, March 5th at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to win a $50 Lawn Fawn gift certificate and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
