Hello Crafty Friends! Today, I am sharing a fun swim race card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #127- SummerTime Fun. I had a friend in mind when I created this card. Her son is an avid swimmer and she dedicates so much of her time at the pool side cheering her son on. So Joanna, this card is especially for you!
To start, I used the Grassy Border Die to die cut the grass about 1.5″ from the top of White Cardstock 4.25″ x 5.5.” Starting from the bottom of the card, I masked off the bottom leaving of 1/2″ of the grass area ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass Ink. I then masked of the grass area. I ink blended the rest of the card with Weathered Wood Distress Oxide using the Brick Stencil. I mixed some of the Distress Oxide with water and splattered it onto the tile area for texture.

For the Sunray Background, I ink blended the top portion of another piece of White Cardstock 4.25′ x 5.5″ with Lemonade and Sunflower ink using the Stunray Background Stencil. I die cut the stadium seat using the Stadium Seating Die with White Cardstock and Metallic Silver Cardstock. I adhered the stadium seat onto the Sunray Background.
The swimming pool was created using the Stitched Plank piece from Picket Fence Border. I die cut four pieces of the Stitched Plank and placed them onto a piece of White Cardstock 4.25″ x 5.5″ so that it would resemble a pool and trimmed the ends. Next, I drew the outline of the pool onto the White Cardstock. I then die cut the White Cardstock with the Stitched Ripple Backdrop and ink blended with Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. I used my paper trimmer to cut out the area of the pool. I cut a piece of acetate of the same size as the pool. I glued the four pieces of the Stitched Planks together to make the pool frame. I flipped the pool frame over and adhered the acetate onto the back. I added foam tape onto all four sides. Next, I added some confetti onto the pool and I adhered the the frame on top.
For the swimming lanes, I stamped and die cut four lines from Season’s Tweetings out of Lobster Ink. I glued the four lanes on top of the acetate.
I stamped and die cut all the mice and coloured with Copic Markers listed below. I drew swim hats on the row of mice. To finish off the card, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the All Star set.
Thanks so much for joining me today! The Challenge is open until Sunday, July 3rd at 11:59PM ET. All entries will have a chance to win a $50 Lawn Fawn gift certificate and you will also have a chance to be featured in the Lawn Fawnatics Blog!
