LAWN FAWN GIANT MERRY CHRISTMAS SENTIMENT

Hello Crafty Friends! I created this card for the Lawn Fawn Challenge, Make the Sentiment the Star. This is my first card using giant sentiments. I find creating cards with giant sentiments a little intimidating but I stepped out of my comfort zone and created this using the Giant Merry Christmas die.

To start, I used the Stitched Snowflake Backdrop to die cut two pieces of white cardstock, one 4.25″x 5.5″ and the other 3.6″ x 4.75″. I added a stitched frame around the smaller cardstock with Just Stitching Double Rectangles. I wanted to have some contrast between the two white backdrops so I added another frame by cutting a rectangle, 3.8″ x 5.2″ with cardstock from the Sweater Weather paper pack.

For the Giant Merry Christmas sentiment, I cut diagonal strips with Simple Stripes Diagonal Die using cardstock from Sweater Weather (grey), Let it Shine (red), and Pixie Dust Sparkle. I arranged the strips into alternating patterns and glued the strips onto Chili Pepper cardstock, 4.25″x 5.5″. I used the Merry Christmas sentiment to die cut the cardstock and ended up with a stripy sentiment. I wanted the sentiment to stand out from the background so I die cut 3 more sentiments with Chili Pepper cardstock. I glued the 3 sentiments together into one thick sentiment. I glued the striped sentiment onto the thick red sentiment leaving a bit of red showing.

For the brown snowflakes, I added some snow accents with a snow writer and for the larger white snowflakes I added clear enamel dots. I couldn’t resist and added a cute reindeer with a sweater.
