Hooray it’s Friday! I am celebrating the weekend ahead with this Celebration Cake card created with Papertrey Ink’s Cake Builder Die set.
To start, I created a hotfoil background using the Fanciful Snowflake Hot Foil Plate. I adhered the background onto a white border. Next, I created a blue ombre background by ink blending Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides onto A2 White Cardstock. I adhered the hotfoil background onto the blue ombre background with foam tape.

I created the cake by die cutting a cake base and the top and bottom icing out of White Cardstock. I ink blended the cake base with Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides. To create the cake design, I die cut a piece of White Cardstock with a Quilted Cover Plate and I ran the quilted cardstock through my die cut machine with the Geo Flowers Cover Plate. I then die cut the cake with the cake die.
I adhered the quilted design cake onto the blue background cake base.
I die cut some flowers, leaves, and candles from the set with White and Gold Cardstock. I ink blended the White Cardstock pieces with the following Distress Oxides:
Blue: Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides
Turquoise: Salvaged Patina
Orange: Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold
I finished off the card with a Gold Heat Embossed and added some gold enamel dots for details.
